A quality sweater is one of the clothes that better enhances the man’s body. It keeps you warm and can break up the monotony of wearing shirts and pants at the office. And yet, some men are still not able to use all the models and styles available on the market.
In this article you’ll find the different kind of materials, wearability, and styles of the man sweater, so you can take into consideration all the options and the models that suit you perfectly.

Sweater Materials

Cashmere sweater is the best. It’s very expensive because the more the sheep who provides it is rare, the more the cashmere is precious. A cashmere sweater is warm and light at the same time and it’s an important investment. When you buy a cashmere sweater you have to make sure that it perfectly fits you and that you will have the occasion to wear it at least 4 or 5 times per year. You should prefer classic colors, for instance blue, brown, camel and dark gray, a simple style and of course, a brand you trust. A Chinese proverb says: “Buy the best, and you only cry once!” And if you take good care of your cashmere sweater, it will last for life.

The wool sweater has a long tradition and offers comfort and functionality together. High quality wool sweaters are made of Merino and Shetland wools, they’re able to keep the warmth, are good looking and worn by men all over the world.  However, you must be careful when you wash it, because by high temperatures your wool sweater will become matted with irreparable damage.

The cotton sweater is lighter that cashmere and wool and you can wear it also directly on your skin, because it’s highly improbable that it will cause you irritations. Besides, a cotton sweater is a lot cheaper.

Synthetic fabric sweater are cheap and less delicate, so you can wash them with no particular care. But they can cause irritations to your skin and increase perspiration. You better avoid them!

Colors and Style of the Sweater

Colors depend on the occasion you need to wear a sweater. Darker colors are classic and formal, while lighter colors are less formal but gorgeous with a casual look. Solid colors are formal, while patterned sweaters are made for causal and sporty outfits. Argyle sweater, for instance, presents a diamond shape pattern and it’s the best for winter time. It’s very catchy and all your look will go around this colorful sweater, so you must wear it along with simple clothes. A sweater like this is something people tend to remember, so you should not wear it more than 2 or 3 times monthly. They look great also in the slim fit models and under a sporty blazer, with jeans and suede shoes, but never with a suit.

Sweater Models

Turtleneck

A turtleneck sweater is what every man should have in his wardrobe. Matched with dark pants, makes every man look thinner, taller and more elegant. It’s perfect with a suit or a sporty jacket or alone with a pair of jeans.

V-Neck

Perfectly matches with a shirt, with or without tie, or a polo shirt. For a neat style, the collar of the polo, or the shirt, must be kept inside the neckline of the sweater. V-neck is good to elongate the figure.

Crew-Neck

It dominates what you wear underneath, like a button-down, a t-shirt or a polo. All you can see when you’re wearing a crew-neck, is just a little bit of what you wear under it. So pay attention to the type of neck: some are so tight that you can barely put your head inside, others are so wide that you can’t really name them real crew-neck! So, just buy the one that allows the collar to stay inside without enlarging the neck or making the sweater lose its line.

Polo Sweater

It’s a good casual sweater that can be worn without a shirt underneath, and it’s wonderful with a sporty blazer. It’s important it fits you perfectly and it can be also worn inside the pants.

Cardigan

Very versatile and good at every age, you can wear it over a shirt and under a jacket. It’s the only type of men’ sweater that have pockets. It must be worn without fasten all the buttons.
